Hi Everyone,
This week at church we’re looking forward to welcoming Mike Waskiel, who’ll be preaching for us from Acts 4. Mike is the Campus Director of the university Christian ministry at Flinders Uni, Flinders Evangelical Students (ES). He works closely with Lauren, a much-loved member of our church and someone we have a strong desire to support in her ministry. We’ll be hearing a brief update on how ES has been going this year, in this week’s service.
If you know someone at Uni (or maybe you are at uni), one great opportunity to get involved in ES is to come along to a camp. ES camps were foundational in my own Christian walk, and as part of my 2 days a week working at ES at UniSA it’s a great joy that I have the role of coordinating these events for Adelaide Uni and UniSA ES. (Adelaide Uni and UniSA ES work together as one group, and will officially become one group next year with the Uni merger).
Both the Flinders ES group and the Adelaide Uni / UniSA ES group run a Mid Year Conference (MYC) each year. These camps are coming up soon:
- Flinders MYC is July 15-18
- Adelaide Uni / UniSA MYC is July 21-25
Both camps are filled with Bible teaching, worship, fun, food, small groups, free time, prayer, games and more. Perhaps you might like to encourage a student you know to get along to one of these amazing camps? Details can be found by clicking through at es.org.au.
