Hello Church,
God is so kind to graciously bring us into relationship with him as our father and to therefore bring us into relationship with each other as his family. Here are a few things to share with you in light of that:
- Women’s morning tea, Wednesday July 23. A lovely chance to share life and encouragement in faith. 10:00am at the Marshman’s – 34 Johnstone Road, Oaklands Park.
- Women’s mission exposure trip January 2026. For a number of years our church partnered with Wim and Maaike Prins during their time as CMS missionaries in Cambodia. Maaike has been in touch to invite women from our church to join a retreat and mission exposure trip that she is running in early 2026. More info here.
- Serving together to make Jesus known. We’re putting together our rosters for August to October. Those of us already involved in serving will receive an email soon to indicate availability over this period. If you’d like to get involved in serving around church, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Please join me in thanking God for the faithful service Renae Nickols has put in over many years helping to coordinate our rosters. Renae is stepping back from this particular role while continuing to serve in a bunch of other ways. Peta will be helping out in this space for now, and you can get hold of her via rosters.brighton@trinity.church
- Our shared passion for others to know the grace of God in Jesus with us. One of the things that stood out to us as we visited a number of other local churches during our recent Long Service Leave was how thankful we are to part of a church that is so passionate for others to come hear the gospel and join us in the family of God – putting their faith in Jesus as Lord and Saviour. This shapes our desire to welcome newcomers well, to explain what we’re doing in a way that is accessible to people who are not familiar with church, to preach God’s grace in Christ week in and week out, to invite people to ask their questions and explore the claims of the Bible with us. We were reminded that this is not a given at every church, but also encouraged by the number of other communities of believers around us who do indeed share this passion with us. We’re going to start putting plans in place to run Taste and See in September, God willing, so please let us know if you have people you hope to invite along – and be praying that God would be at work in their hearts to accept the invitation in due course.
Cheers,
Simon
