Each week in our service we pray for our church, our network and our world. If you would like to let us know about prayer points for the Pastoral Care Team to be praying about please fill out our contact card here. We also have a prayer meeting each Sunday before church from 9-9:30, which you’re always welcome at.
Our Church | Let’s pray today that we would be a church that would be willing to serve one another. We can remember and thank God particularly for those who serve on teams behind the scenes; our setup and packup teams, our welcoming teams, our coffee and morning tea teams, and our AV teams. Let’s pray that God would provide enough people so that those who serve can do so sustainably. We can pray too that all of us would look for opportunities to serve as we are able, and perhaps even use our giftings to take on positions of leadership of teams, so that we might be able to keep doing things well.
Our Networks | Today we’re praying for Trinity Church Unley. We can give God great thanks for the recent team that went from the church to Alice Springs as part of the “Unley to Alice Mission” in partnership with Bush Church Aid (it was a great encouragement to the local church in Alice as well as for those who went). Let’s also pray that the church would keep doing a good job of connecting with their community and with newcomers to the church.
Our World | As we think of our world we’re praying today for Christians who are persecuted for their faith around the world. Let’s pray today for Christians in central India, where a recent police directive has banned Christian gatherings from taking place in houses, forcing many house churches to close. The ban is currently being challenged in the High Court so let’s pray that it would be lifted. Let’s also pray for Christians in Congo, where Islamic extremists attacked a Christian prayer meeting in late July, resulting in 40 deaths. Let’s pray for God to comfort those affected, and for an end to violence.
