Pastor’s Letter – September 14

Hello Church,

There is mission going on all over the place!

  1. Tonight is week two of Taste and See. We had a great kick-off last week and a few people who couldn’t come last week are planning to join in tonight. Please pray for more great conversations and growing understanding of the significance of Jesus for every one of us.
  2. Tomorrow night Youth@Hove has the final session in a six week gospel overview. The youth will have an opportunity to consider the impact of Jesus’ death and resurrection on their own lives. Please join me in praying that God will be powerfully at work in the lives of these young people: growing their confidence in the gospel if they already trust Jesus, or perhaps even bringing them to faith for the first time if that is where they’re at.
  3. This Sunday morning we have the joy of hearing about God’s global mission. CMS Regional Director Mark Peterson will be preaching from Acts 15 for us, which will join many dots from the holiness and grace of God made known in Leviticus, to God’s call for us to make Jesus known right around the world today.
  4. This Sunday afternoon we’re gathering for prayer: 3:30-4:30pm in “The Minis Room” at Holdfast Bay Community Centre. We’ll have a particular focus on praying for Taste and See and our sharing of the gospel with kids, youth, and much further afield. It’d be wonderful to have a big crowd of gather to pray!

It blows my mind that the Sovereign Lord of the universe chooses to work through the prayers of his humble people, so what a privilege it is to approach his throne of grace knowing that he hears us, and acts!

Cheers,

Simon
