Pastor’s Letter – February 28th

Dear friends

Our church’s turns fifteen next week. On March 5 2006, Trinity Bay (as it was known) was launched in the Holdfast bay Community Centre. John Warner and a team from Holy Trinity Adelaide planted the church and over the years we have seen God’s blessing in so many ways.

Not that it has been always smooth sailing. There have been hard times as well as times of great joy. People have come to new life in Christ while others have fallen away. Babies have been born into our community. Dearly loved brothers and sisters have gone to glory.

Reflecting on the past fifteen years, what can we say?

Firstly, this is God’s church and he is the one who builds it. It is the Holy Spirit using the Word of God, the Bible, who builds his church. As the Scriptures have been taught in our Sunday gathering, Growth Groups, Kids Church and Youth Groups, as well as one to one, God has grown us in numbers and maturity.

Secondly, we can see the blessing of being in partnership with other churches. The generosity of other churches enabled the planting of our church and on occasion provided for our needs over the years. It is a wonderful thing to have a shared commitment to church planting in order to reach Adelaide with the gospel.

Thirdly, we have had the joy of participating in God’s mission as we have reached our in our community but also as we stretched to see Colin Taylor and a team formed largely from our church planting a new congregation in Woodcroft. In turn, we have had the joy of seeing that church grow as well.

Lastly, we have been reminded that God is faithful. His promises never fail. As we celebrate, why don’t you share with others a few things for which you are thankful?

Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. (Psalm 115.1)
