Pastor’s Letter – December 11

Pastor’s Letter – December 11

G’day church,

I thought it’d be helpful to fill you in on some details for the coming weeks:

1 – Christmas mission gift-swap: Bring your gifts this Sunday and place them on the table near the coffee cart.

2 – Church Family Christmas BBQ: This Sunday afternoon from 4:30pm to 7pm in the Children’s Area yard (next to church where creche and Minis meet). Here are a few details you need to know:
– Access is via the Holdfast Bay Community Centre southern gate on King George Ave. If you know your way around, please help our newcomers by parking in the northern car park or on the road.
– Please bring a salad or dessert to share (with your own serving utensil), and a picnic rug or chair. Meat, bread and drinks will be provided.
– Feel free to invite your friends and family. It will be a relaxed and fun time.

3 – Summer of Hope: While we’re inviting people to join us at church for Christmas, sometimes January presents a better opportunity for them to come. For that reason we’re carrying our theme of Hope right through January and all our Sunday’s in January will be geared to invite newcomers to check out church. Here’s an outline of our Summer of Hope to inform your prayerful consideration of whether there are people in your life you can invite along:

    • Sunday Jan 1: Hope For This Year. Whatever your hopes for this year might be, Jesus offers us a true and lasting hope for life. (Like Christmas Day, this will be an all-age service with no separate Trinity Kids program)
    • Sunday Jan 8: Hope For Forgiveness. Jesus offers us the hope of forgiveness for our sins and the hope that we might be able to forgive the people who have hurt us.
    • Sunday Jan 15: Hope For Our Bodies. Jesus offers us real hope for all of us – body, mind, and soul. In a world that is so confused about or bodies, this is truly great news!
    • Sunday Jan 22: Hope For The Planet. Jesus gives us the best reasons to care for our planet with a genuine hope for its future.

Cheers,
