G’day Church,
A few notes for this Sunday:
- Do you have a trestle table we can use? With some great activities and a shared lunch we’re realising we’re a few tables short. The setup team will be in at the school gym at 2pm on Saturday afternoon, so if you have one or two that we can use either drop it off or let us know and we can pick it up.
- Church starts at 10:00. With lots of guests expected, please arrive early to be able to welcome them and help everyone get a seat up front. On that note, please do fill up the front of church, so latecomers – and especially any guests – are able to find a seat easily.
- We’ve got a great all-age service planned, kids remaining in throughout the morning. It will be a slightly shorter service than usual with lots of great carols and three short talks that will engage young and old. If you think your children will benefit from some colouring or other activities, please feel free to bring something along for them.
- Straight after church we’ll have some family Christmas activities in the gym: face painting, ginger bread decorating, Christmas ornament craft, and some games. These will be great activities for families to participate in together, and we do ask parents to supervise their own children throughout.
- Lunch will be served soon after church, with a fun mix of ‘party food’. Keep an eye out for vegetarian and gluten free options if you or your guests need them.
- It looks like being a hot day, so if you or your guests are not sure about leaving the comfort of an air-conditioned home, rest assured that there will be plenty of iced water and we’ll have the air conditioners cranked to keep the room pretty cool.
- Over all of this, please thank God for the opportunity to celebrate his wonderful love to us in sending his Son, born in such humble circumstances, to be our Saviour King. Please ask God to be at work by his Spirit in the hearts and minds of the guests we’ve invited: that they would come, receive the good news, and take steps of faith toward our Great God and Saviour. Pray that the practical aspects would all come together to support this, with bucket loads of fun good food, and great conversation.
See you on Sunday!
Simon
