Prayer Points – May 25

Each week in our service we pray for our church, our network and our world. If you would like to let us know about prayer points for the Pastoral Care Team to be praying about please fill out our contact card here. We also have a prayer meeting each Sunday before church from 9-9:30, which you’re always welcome at.

Our Church |  Today we’re praying that we would be a church that together magnifies the name of Jesus – that we would see more and more of him and live for him more and more! Our singing on Sundays is a big part of this – let’s give thanks for our bands, together with those who run our slides and sound desk, for the way they help us to worship. We can give thanks too for Christian songwriters who help give us great words and music. We can pray that we would sing with great passion and energy as we gather, and we might also pray for more singers and musicians to join us.

Our Networks |  Today we’re praying for CMS, the church missionary society. We’ll pray for K who’s visiting us today, as she prepares to head back to the mission field in the middle of the year. We can pray as well for preparations for the CMS online dinner in July, and pray that God would provide CMS with the people and resources needed to continue seeing God’s gospel go out to the nations.

Our World | Let’s pray today for Christians who are persecuted throughout our world – that they would stand firm. We can pray for China, where Christians, including children, face threats of arrest as they gather together (Source: https://vom.com.au/prayers/china-young-children-detained-after-bible-lesson-raid/). Let’s pray also for Cuba where churches often deal with threats of violence and denial of opportunities (https://vom.com.au/prayers/cuba-exiled-pastor-refused-entry-to-cuba/).
