Pastor’s Letter – April 18th

Pastor’s Letter – April 18th

Dear friends

As seems to always happen, the first quarter of the year has flow by! I hope those of you who are able to have some downtime over school holidays are enjoying it so far.

After a term in the book of Luke, we’ve got a special treat at church this Sunday with one of our former members, Tim Blagg, returning to preach a one off sermon for us on Ephesians 3. I’m sure lots of you will remember Tim, and lots of our youth will also know him from the work he does with young people across our network. Even this weekend Tim will be coming back to preach with us after a couple of days away speaking for our youth at a youth camp.

I’ve really enjoyed working with our youth this term and although our youth group is quite small at the moment, they’re a committed and quality bunch of people, and are also all great at bringing their friends along to youth!

Please do keep praying for our youth group. The teen years are such a crucial time as our youth start to wrestle with their faith and work out for themselves what it means to grow into mature believers. If you have younger kids it’s always worth talking to them early as well about being involved in youth group one day. It’s so encouraging to see kids who start youth already excited about this phase of life, and keen to make youth a priority amongst lots of other things they could spend their time on.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone this Sunday (hopefully with Annika, Lucy and Eleanor – in case you missed it she was born Saturday night!!) and looking forward to hearing Tim speak for us.

After Tim’s sermon, Cameron will be spending five weeks looking at 1 Corinthians 15 (on the resurrection) for the first half of term 2, then I’ll be beginning a series in the book of Genesis in the second half.

Have a great week,

Matt
