Pastor’s Letter – July 17th

Pastor’s Letter – July 17th

G’day,

Mid-year holidays are a good chance to check in on where we’re headed as a church for the second half of the year.

This Sunday we’re doing things a little different at church as we wrap up our time in the book of Ephesians. Instead of a sermon on a particular passage, we’ll be reading excerpts from across the book and spending more time singing and praying, with a few shorter reflections. If you’re someone who likes to know the way things will fit together, please check out the Sunday Hub for a service outline. It’s going to be a great morning together!

Next Sunday we have the privilege of hearing from Mark Peterson, Regional Director for the Church Missionary Society. Then in term three Matt Winter takes us through the final third of the book of Genesis. After that we’ve got three weeks in the book of Esther and we wrap up the year with a focus on prayer in term 4. Growth Groups will be provided with material for the Genesis and Prayer series, and some fun suggestions of how to use Esther as a prompt for celebrating God’s grace together.

Through the second half of this year the Leadership Team will be turning our attention to the process of forward planning: prayerfully seeking to reflect on where things are at for Trinity Church Brighton, where we’d like them to be, and how we might get there under God. Please uphold the Leadership Team in your prayers as they begin this process and consider how best to include the whole church family in it over time.

Throughout all of this, let’s keep exploring how we live in light of what we’ve learned from Ephesians of God’s amazing grace to us in Christ, gathering together as those who were once far off, that together we might live for the praise of his glorious grace.

See you tomorrow,
