Pastor’s Letter – May 15th

Dear Friends,

I am wondering how your week has been going?

For us it’s included our 3 kids and I coming down with COVID. The Winter household are also unwell with a nasty non-COVID virus.

It can be easy to think of all the things we could be doing if we weren’t resting up in isolation. But God has reminded Peta and I that he has it all in hand and he will continue his good work. As Paul said in Acts 17:24-25 The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

We are totally dependent on our good and sovereign God. This Sunday we will see from Ephesians that even the faith we have in God is a gift from him (you’ll hear a video of my sermon at church). There is always much to thank God for isn’t there, even in the midst of sickness.

We will miss being with you on Sunday but look forward to hearing how you’ve enjoyed gathering together to hear from God’s word, pray and build each other up as you worship him in song. Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. (Eph 4:15)

Your brother in Christ,
